-Abstine et sustine-

I hear shackles forged by the mind. William Blake

Often the tradition has made the female body custodian of the ‘Beauty,' although for this to be achieved force and torment are necessary: "to look good one must suffer". Under the maxim of the Stoics "abstine et sustine" - refrain and endure - the work is intended as a visual metaphor of this cult of the body.
